Electronic Gradebooks

Teachers today live in a world where technology is always evolving. Electronic Gradebooks is a software designed to make life much easier. It is a unique program that allows teachers to keep records of students name, test, data, averages and lots more. This program analyzes data and prints reports based on the information. According to Roblyer (p. 162 to 163, 2006) " Teachers find electronic Gradebooks motivating and enjoy greater control over their own time (gradebooks require less teacher setup time than spreadsheet and it is easy for teachers to keep track of and calculate students grades with just a touch of a button)".

Benefits for teachers
  • automatically generate averages
  • allows less flexibility on format options
  • prints reports based on the information
  • requires less time
  • and it is not frustrating
Benefits for pupils
  • can access grades online
  • parents can view child's grades without meeting the teacher
  • students are able to monitor their assignments, grades and progress in class
  • it is extremely efficient and effective
As a Prospective teacher i believe that Electronic Gradebooks is quick and easy for anyone to use. It is convenient, saves time and teachers won't be frustrated but relaxed while using this software.

(CAD) Computer-Aided Design
Computer-Aided Design (CAD) is a computer technology used to design objects, real or virtual. CAD may be used to design curves and figures in two-dimensional ("2") space, curves, surfaces, and solids in three- dimensional ("3") objects.

A CAD model of a mouse.

Computer-Aided Design is one of many tools used by engineers and designers and is used in many ways.

CAD Software will let you:

  • Switch between two-dimensional ("2D") and three-dimensional ("3") views
  • Zoom in and out for close-up and distance views.
  • Rotate images for different perspectives.
  • Change the scale of images: value changes automatically adjust.
  • Manipulate the shape of images: When one portion is changed of an image, it automatically changes the entire picture.
This Software is used by engineers, architects and designers. But it is now available on personal computers for users to work in the comfort of their homes. It is creative and has a lower product development cost.
Nowadays educational institutions are looking forward to teaching CAD to their students so that they can be aware of the most modern technical advancement in the field of designing.

I believe that both teachers and students can benefit from this software because you can use a computer program rather than pen and paper. It saves time and takes only minutes to make changes if there are any. And you can even create 3D design and visualize exactly what it is. It is fun and easy to use and saves you a lot of money.

Image Editing Tools

In todays society students find it more fun when editing their photos. Image editing can stimulate and create an environment for the learner. It is a unique experience that will engage the student to look beyond their textbooks and use their imagination. This helps with their lesson plan because they can fully understand the different concepts of what they are doing. The information presented is interesting which causes the students to become motivated to learn. Students find Image editing a fun way to control what they learn through themselves e.g. cropping an        image, removed unwanted elements, colour change and lots more.

  • create and express their ideas
  • picture can be unique
  • they can learn through their experience
  • replicate what they have learnt
Benefits for teachers
Teachers can help students by:

  • creating, modifying, and combining images for e.g. clip art, photos, and drawings etc
  • they can illustrate documents
  • and web pages
